Welcome to Finland is a guide published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. Its new edition will be out later this year, replacing the already outdated current edition. The publication date of the new edition will be announced later. The instructions for ordering and distributing the guide will be updated, too.

Welcome for Finland is an information pack for people moving to Finland. The Act on the Promotion of Immigration Integration obligates the authorities to give immigrants information about the Finnish society. The guide is only available through official distributors listed in the Act. These include local register offices, the Finnish Immigration Service and Finland’s embassies abroad. People moving to Finland can get the guide when they are granted a residence permit, register their right of residence, receive a residence card or register at their local register office and in the Population Information System.

Guide material and language versions based on Infopankki

The material for the new edition of Welcome to Finland and its language versions are based on the Infopankki online service that gives information about Finland in a number of languages. The authorities with integration responsibilities each update the Infopankki material together with the editors of the online service. The Centre of Excellence in Immigrant Integration at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is responsible for coordinating the updating and distribution of the guide. Infopankki will be renamed as InfoFinland in late November.

Welcome to Finland is also available as a leaflet, which was updated already in summer 2018. The leaflet contains important information for immigrants in a compact form and guides the readers to consult the full guide online at the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
