Government Integration Programme for 2020–2023 and the report required by the Parliament to be prepared jointly
The preparation of the Government Integration Programme for 2020–2023 will continue, and it will be carried out jointly with the preparation of the report on integration required by the Finnish Parliament. Initial preparations were launched at a kick-off event held in spring 2019, and work will now continue with key stakeholders identified at the event.
According to Prime Minister Rinne’s Government Programme, the Government will prepare a comprehensive action plan on the need to reform integration measures based on the report of the Audit Committee approved by Parliament. The action plan will be submitted as a government report to Parliament by the end of 2020.
Under the Act on the Promotion of Integration, the Government decides on national integration practices and policies by drawing up a Government Integration Programme that includes integration objectives for a four-year period at a time.
A decision has been made to jointly prepare these two strategic documents.
Inclusive co-creation to continue
Open and inclusive preparation of the Government Integration Programme has been a key objective from the outset. Inclusive co-creation will continue as the government report and the Integration Programme are being jointly prepared. Participants in the spring’s kick-off event identified key themes for the preparation, as well as key stakeholders to be consulted. These will be taken into account during the preparation process.
Co-creation will continue with workshops for separately invited representatives of the identified stakeholder groups. As the preparation progresses, various inclusive instruments will be used to engage the stakeholders more extensively.
