Other measures supporting integration
Measures and services promoting integration are organised as a part of basic municipal services, Employment and Economic Administration services, and as other activities promoting integration. The Integration Act contains provisions on other measures and services that support and promote integration, which must be taken into account when preparing and implementing integration programmes and integration plans.
The measures are set down in the immigrant’s integration plan as indicated by their personal needs.
Other measures and services that support integration may include
- measures and services that promote the integration of immigrant children and young people
- child welfare aftercare measures and services for those who arrived as unaccompanied minors and were issued with residence permits
- services and support measures for those in need of special measures
- other measures and services that encourage immigrants to independently acquire knowledge and skills needed in society.
In addition to the different municipal services, these measures and services may also be provided by other stakeholders, including NGOs.
