The Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) carry regional responsibility for immigration and integration affairs. The ELY Centres support municipalities in the preparation and implementation of integration programmes and conclude agreements with municipalities on the allocation of beneficiaries of international protection to municipalities. The ELY Centres also provide the Employment and Economic Development Offices (TE Offices) with guidance in immigration and integration affairs.
Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVIs) are responsible for the planning, direction and supervision of services that promote immigrants’ integration in matters that are within their remit. The AVIs direct the municipalities’ activities in such sectors as social welfare and healthcare as well as education and other cultural activities.
