The preparation of the Government Integration Programme for 2020–2023 will continue, and it will be carried out jointly with the preparation of the report on integration required by the Finnish Parliament. Initial preparations were launched at a kick-off event held in spring 2019, and work will now continue with key stakeholders identified at the event.

The theme of the seminar entitled Partnership, Integration and Civil Society is partnerships in integration, especially between organisations, municipalities and the authorities. At this Nordic seminar, effective partnership practices will be examined, particularly from the organisation perspective.

The MEAE is proposing a general increase of EUR 3 million to streamline immigrant integration and work permit procedures in 2020. The additional funds would especially boost the resources of Employment and Economic Development Offices for identifying the skills of immigrants, and the role of municipal centres of expertise and organisations in integrating immigrants.

A recent study of the Vietnamese in Finland, commissioned by the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration, identifies education and career guidance offered to young people, employment promotion measures, native language lessons, and reception and integration services in the Vietnamese language as the key contributors to successful integration.

Talent Boost Cookbook is a handbook containing good practices for international talent management in Finland.
